Privacy policy for WebDevExtension
This policy explains what personal information the WebDevExtension website collects, why it is needed, how it is protected, and the choices you have.

Who we are
WebDevExtension (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at webdevextension.com and the WebDevExtension browser extension, an AI tool that builds websites from written descriptions. This policy covers personal information handled through the website, including account sign-up, affiliate sign-up, and the contact form.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create a customer account we collect your full name, your email address, and a password. The password is converted into a one-way hash before it is stored, so we never keep or see the password itself.
Affiliate information
When you join the affiliate program we collect your full name, email address, and password (stored as a hash), the website or profile address you choose to share, and the channel you plan to promote through. We also generate a unique referral code for your affiliate account.
Referral information
If you open a link that contains an affiliate’s referral code, the code is stored in a cookie on your device. If you then create an account, that code is saved with your account so the affiliate can be credited.
Messages you send us
When you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, chosen topic, and message, together with your IP address and browser type to help prevent abuse and to troubleshoot problems you report.
Security and technical records
To protect accounts from password guessing and automated sign-ups, sign-in attempts are recorded with the email address entered and the IP address used, and the IP address of each new account is noted for a short time. Like most websites, our web server may also keep standard logs that include IP addresses, pages requested, dates and times, and browser types.
How we use information
- To create and run your account, sign you in, and take you to the extension download page.
- To run the affiliate program, including issuing referral codes and crediting referred sign-ups.
- To answer messages and support requests.
- To keep the website secure, prevent abuse, and investigate problems.
- To meet legal obligations that apply to us.
Cookies
The website sets only the cookies it needs to work. At the time of this update it does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
| Cookie | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| wdx_session | Keeps you signed in and protects forms with a security token. Set when you use a form or sign in. | Until you close your browser or sign out |
| wdx_ref | Remembers an affiliate referral code so the right affiliate is credited if you sign up. Set only when you open a referral link. | 30 days |
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie will prevent you from signing in.
How we protect information
Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. Every form is protected against cross-site request forgery, repeated failed sign-ins are temporarily blocked, and the database that holds account information is kept outside the reach of public web requests. The live website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to fix problems quickly when we find them.
How long we keep information
Account and affiliate information is kept for as long as the account exists. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to answer them and handle any follow-up. Records of sign-in attempts, sign-ups and contact form submissions kept for abuse prevention are removed automatically once they are about a day old. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information unless the law requires us to keep it.
When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the website, such as hosting providers, when the law requires it, or when it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users and the public.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. To make a request, use the contact form and choose “Privacy request”, or email [email protected]. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
The browser extension
When you use the extension, the description you type is processed to generate your website. Details about how the extension itself handles data are provided with the extension, including on the extension download page.
Children’s privacy
The website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website or the law changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised, and significant changes will be highlighted on the website.
